Chosen Solution
So, that happened. Was trying to fix a ‘unrecognised disc’ error by tearing the machine apart (already out of warranty) and somehow managed to damage the ribbon cable. I am trying to find a replacement for CUH-7002B but all I can seem to find are ribbons for CUH-1215A/B. Before I purchase anything I want to make sure the ribbon will work but can’t find any definitie info. Does anyone here know?

There is nothing unique to a ribbon cable. Take a look at the ones listed on eBay for the 1215, and compare it to yours. As long as the number of pins is correct, it should work.
