I have these Croma Earphones with Mic (EA7290 EM881J, Black) ear phones they have stopped working and I think its a simple case of disconnected wires that need to be sodered back .However I cannot find a way to open these earphones they apper to be factory sealed however there may be a techinique i am unaware of that could aid me in opening these earphones here are a few images of the earphones. The earbuds stopped working one after the other so i am sure that the jack is not to blame Things i have tried I firstly took the rubber pieces out so they don’t melt or deform then i placed the earbuds on a workbench where I hanged a hairdryer directly on top of it the distance between the hairdryer and earbuds has about 5 to 10 cm I turned hairdryer to max heat output then waited for 3 minutes then I used gloves and tried really hard to pull the 2 ends of the earbuds apart but it didn’t work. the thing didnt came apart and it didnt even move and i feard if i heated it up any more the internal componets might get damaged themselfves
It’s hard to tell in the picture, but the front of it(the speaker side) has a ridge. Usually there’s a small ridge where 2 halves are sealed with glue. If you heat it with low heat with a hot air station, without damaging it from overheating, you can use an exacto knife and carefully pry it off. Did both earbuds stop working at the same time? Or does one side still work? If they both stopped working,it’s probably NOT the speaker part of it. As long as other earbuds work fine with your device, and as long as these earbuds used to,then what probably happened is the plug that goes into your phone actually has bad wire connection inside. You’d have to tear it apart(slice it open with a knife) to see. But it would require microsoldering to fix. You can buy a headphone jack replacement on amazon that screws closed,so you can solder the wires onto it and screw it closed over the wires. But once you cut a headphone jack,it becomes weak and useless. You have to replace it. the part where they go into the mic can also be damaged. It’s usually the headphone jack part though. something like this is what I’m talking about replacing https://www.amazon.com/Ancable-Replaceme… again,it’s hard to solder this crap on unless you have lots of practice.
