Is it possible to replace the cracked screen or do I have to face the horror of buying another TV?
abioduncity, while it is possible to replace the LCD, it will be more expensive than a new TV. It is very difficult to even find a LCD that size as a replacement, then the cost for the panel and shipping will be more than a new TV. Keep the TV with the broken LCD and check sites like Craigslist, Ebay etc. often to try and purchase a TV that is broken in other ways and use the panel from one of those.
