I’m just about to send back a new screen replacement kit I have just bought because the touch screen is not working properly (it’s going crazy pressing on things I have not pressed and then not working where I want it to). It was cheap and I’ve read cheap digitisers could be faulty but I’ve just thought, the metal shield has really been bashed and there are flakes peeling off it so the digitiser might not be lying flat? Is it worth buying a new metal shield? Also you are meant to use 6 screws to screw the shield in to place but I only have four screws so could that have an effect? The screen does not fit flush in the case but I’m not sure why…this could be another cause of the digitiser not working properly I presume? Any advise would be appreciated.
Well everything you’re saying inclines me to believe that you definitely have a faulty display on your hands. However now I’m just starting to question if the display came faulty or you jamming it into a disruptive shield is the issue. Spend the extra $2 and get a new shield from here or eBay. That way you know you’re not causing the display to be faulty. They’re basically all the same, the shields real purpose is to hold stuff to the display, it does a good amount of protection, while its there EDIT: oops, my bad. It’s slightly more expensive iPhone 5c LCD Shield Plate
