Chosen Solution

i run an iphone service shop a custumer brought an iphone 6 he factory resset it by itself and now iphone got stuck on “could not activate iPhone your iphone could not be activated because the activation server cannot be reached. Try connectin your iphone to iTunes to activate it, or try again in a couple of minutes” i have tried to : restore it in DFU , in recovery mode , multiple ipsw , multiple ios 11 versions but no luck after i opened it i saw that iphone was refourbuished but not by apple i think from some chinese company they had replaced wifi ic and nand chip

The problem with iphones with this error 80% of them are refourbished so in this case phones that has nand ic replaced or cpu or baseband apple noticed some brands of those ic and banned them so if you have a refourbished iphone from somewhere in china the only way to activate your iphone is to notice wich ic was replaced andreplace it again.

Sorry for the late replay, I just caught this. This could have something to do with the previous refurbishment. You need to ask the customer more questions about where they bought the phone and if they were aware that it was refurbished. If you haven’t found a solution for this, then I suggest you have it looked at by an experienced micro-solderer in order to identify what is wrong with your device.

There is one other possibility. Is the customer using an MVNO carrier? For example is the phone a Sprint phone but using a no-name carrier that borrows Sprints networks? If this is the case the customer may need to contact the provider to have it activated.

I’d say that about 50% of the time when this error comes up, It’s a problem with the SIM card, or tray. I’d open it up, switch out the SIM card, and see if that works. If not, Putting the phone in recovery mode and restoring the phone should work. I did that to my iPhone 6 with the same error, and it works like new. Hope this helps!

How do you put it in recovery mode
