Chosen Solution
Coolpix L32 purchased 2 weeks ago. I took a couple pictures, and then put it away. Now it comes on, but as I’m trying menu the on/off button starts flashing green and everything else goes dark; then it turns off entirely. I first used the batteries that came with it, and then switched to a brand new package of batteries. Same problem.
May have found answer in Reference Manual (google for PDF file). OK, main problem (feature) identified in Quick User Guide, but more info on how to fix it is in Ref. Man. Search for “Auto Off”, and set value to more than 30 seconds! Uses more power, but I need more time with camera on. Have to play around for a bit to get used to menu etc. I find the PDF reference manual very useful; nice links from one section to another. OK, it worked. Camera was on for 5 minutes before it flashed off. I think the default should be higher than 30 secs!
