Unfortunately contact manager has stopped why? Rectify?

Hi, I had this problem with my A6000. The contact manager was going very slow and my phone would, at times, not wake up from the sleep mode. This used to happen even when I get incoming calls. I realized that the problem was happening particularly when I was connected to the Net and was using Whatsapp. After lots of hair splitting and frustration, thought of deleting the cache and data of Whatsapp. This worked !!! Phone works perfectly now. Varkey

hi, go to App All App locate Contact storage force stop open the phone book check the response by searching some names Its working for me, but Lenovo needs this capsule thrice a day :)

Hello Rajesh Rajan, There are so many reason to occur the issue you mentioned

  1. Virus/ malware infection
  2. Contact database corrupted
  3. Due to 3rd party application which share your address book such as Viber, line ets..
  4. Sim card contact memory location having issue with data filed
  5. recently you imported contact complicating or address book limit exceeded Simply you can reset the device and most probably fault will be fixed but before reset the phone make sure all contact backup to the your google account. Hope this answer help you! Thanks

Hi everyone, I purchased k4 note and in 10 days I started getting this error message ‘contact manager not responding’. But I am not facing this issue for now and would like to share what I did and hope that those who are facing this problem might get a resolution. I removed the mem card and switched on my cell and I realised that my contact manager started working fine. I put the mem card in a card reader and attached it to my PC. I found a file named ’ conatacts001’ and I remembered that I had shifted my contacts to mem card to ensure I have all my contacts in K4. However, I had also realised that I had 500 contacts in mem card n 500 in my normal contacts. So K4 took time to read 1000 contacts and that’s why my contact manager did not respond. I deleted contacts from my mem card and it’s been more then 10 hrs now and I have not faced that issue. So if someone wants to try this please go ahead and I hope it works for all those who are facing this problem :)

S930 Install True Dialer, True Messenger and 360 security, removed unwanted apps after rooting. Working fine from the last 10 days.

From any Home screen, tap Apps. Tap Settings. Scroll to ‘APPLICATIONS,’ then tap Application manager. Swipe right to the ALL screen. Scroll to and tap Contacts. Tap Clear cache button. Tap Clear data button, then OK.

One trick is worked for me guys! Remove cash and data from WhatsApp and voila. Later on you can add your number and all details to WhatsApp again without any problem

I’m using lenovo vibe x2 ……..I got the same issue that, " contact manager has stopped unfortunately"…I got irritated lots of times ..when I want to make a call…one day I fedup with the this error dialog box and made factory reset to check for same issues will occure or not in future …..until now i didn’t get any problem with contact manager issue …in my case factory reset worked ….warning : before going to do factory reset back up Ur data……..hope this may help…

hi guys, I think it has to do with whatsapp. I have had issues with whatsapp in the past, so i refused to update it So when this issue of ‘contact manager has stopped’ started, i saw this article. I quickly cleared data and cache of whatsapp, then updated whatsapp to the latest version. When I started the application, it asked for my phone number (normal setup) and verified it, then asked me to select to restore backups of the chats. I skipped the restore (this is important). I have whatsapp but all my chats are gone. So memory is free. And contact manager works fine. By the way, my phone is rooted. I suggest you uninstall whatsapp completely. Then re-install and do not restore any backups, just use it fresh. And clear data of other apps too like, play store, browser, etc. Hope this helps

Bought new Lenovo A8 50. Edit option throws error " Unfortunately, contacts has stopped". Tried clearing cache and reboot for many apps. Finally worked when I cleared the cache of contact storage and WhatsApp and force stop of contact storage
