With lack of knowledge i replaced a third party lcd screen with my old broken one without moving the battery first. When connecting the wide connector closest to the top, it smelled burnt. It does not display anything. Which parts are possibly damaged, and what needs to be replaced? Is it the logic board or the screen?
Backlight filter at the very least has blown which is a component soldered on the board right near the screen connector. A reputable phone repair store that does board repairs can replace this component. You may be able to find someone locally that offers this service. These repairs generally start from $80.
