So, I was fixing a water damaged phone - I attach a screen to test the screen working on the phone (with only the two connectors - not the home button connector) and it works fine. Then, I install the home button on to the screen and connect the flex cable to the motherboard connector (the one for the homebutton) and the screen doesn’t come on. But then, if I disconnect the home button connector the phone comes on as usual. Then if I connect the home button connector whilst the screen is on, the screen just turns off? What could be the problem? It works fine with a different home button, just not THAT home button - but that one’s the original one! Just to clarify which connector I mean - it’s the one that the guy is prying off in this photo: https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=home+b… Thank you!

Hi, I have the same problem here but the iphone 6 never came in contact with water. I have already repaired a lot of iPhones but I can’t solve this problem. I have send it to apple but they asked $400 to repair it. I have tried to replace the home button and the shield with the home button cable. I can’t use the original home button because the ribbon is broken. Anyone who know to fix my problem?
