When I connect my home button cable to the logic board my screen slowly turns black and will not work unless I disconnect the cable
You need to disconnect all of the flex cables coming from your screen and visually inspect the FPC connectors on the logic board and on the screen assembly. Preferably, use a magnifying glass or jeweler’s loupe. If everything looks okay, re-connect them but be careful as they are very delicate. They should snap into place but if you are forcing you are doing something wrong. Also, make sure you disconnect the battery before doing this.
