Hello. My fridge had a condensor fan that crumbled. It had an overflowing pan. The tempature in the fridge was fine. I replaced the fan with the correct parts. The fan still isn’t kicking on. I tested the power to the fan aynd it was bouncing in between 42-56 on my multi meter. In the video it looked like 114 was the proper reading. What do I replace now?? Lol. Thanks.
Hi @quinnlamunyon, What is the make and model number of the refrigerator? If the condenser fan was being powered at the time it fell into the evaporator pan, then its’ power source may have been damaged. You would need to check the refrigerator control board (if it has one) or wherever the power to the fan comes from for any damage. If it is a control board and you can’t see any obvious damage or you’re not quite sure, post some close up images back here. Here’s how to do this. Adding images to an existing question You would have to check where the power for the fan is coming from in any case, even if the fan wasn’t being powered at the time it failed, to make sure that it is OK at that point and that it isn’t a problem in the wiring harness e.g. loose connection somewhere etc. Also the condenser fan doesn’t have to be running all the time. In most refrigerators the condenser fan is temperature controlled and it only runs when the temperature of the condenser coils indicates that they need to be cooled further by the fan, to maintain the cooling efficiency of the refrigerator. Once they have been cooled sufficiently (usually a thermistor sensor indicates temperature to the control board) the fan is stopped.
