The computer makes no sound, nothing. Tried all the steps for resetting SMC with a T2. Opened the back and saw this:
It’s still under the limited warranty. Any ideas on how to fix / if Apple will?
Well, it’s not smart opening your system while its still covered under warranty, you don’t want to give Apple a reason to deny your coverage! What I can tell you is your logic board had a failure! The small tantalum capacitor located marked here failed and the spillage from it is marked as well.
This should be covered under warranty! The issue now is did you leave enough markings for Apple to question things. If they deny you, you’ll need a new logic board which depending on which model you have is somewhere between $1,000 to 3,000 - One big OUCH!
Opening a computer case can void its warranty. Please call Apple customer support at 1-800-275-2273 for more details. Now that the case has already been opened, have you tried replacing the battery? There is a tutorial at the following link: MacBook Pro 16" 2019 Battery Replacement
