iMac EMC2210 Is there a compatible Western Digital Caviar Black hard drive replacement for a WDC WD5000AAKS-40YGA1? Mine has failed and I would like to upgrade - possibly another 500GB or even a 1TB. Help please!
any 3.5 inch SATA harddrive should work fine. Keep in mind that some drives operate hotter then others and a hotter drive will make the HDD fan spin up more. Make sure to securely reattach the HDD thermal sensor to the new drive. If you are looking for a definite answer with a specific model number then it would all depend on where you are going to purchase from.
