I had an accident and fell and smashed the screen of my MacBook A1278. Id LIKE TO REPLACE THE WHOLE LID OF MY Macbook. Is mz A1278 compatible with the A1181? I ask because a friend is offering to give me his whole lid complete with screen etc.. (the whole top lid part) and Id like to know if I can mount it onto my A1278? I appreciate any help. Thanks.

Those two models are completely different. You wouldn’t be able to swap them. About the only thing that is the same is that they both say “MacBook” on the bezel.
