Chosen Solution

Hi folks. So I’ve clumsily tried to clean and re-apply thermal compound to my xbox one. Something I’m usually quite safe doing - only this time I started without my glasses on, slipped taking the tension clip off and totalled several conductor runs and clipped off component c4t14. Anyone help with identifying c4t14? It’s tiny so it’s lost but I think with some patience I could repair it if i got a replacement - at least I’d like to give it a go anyway. All help appreciated. Thanks. Second Edit for clarity: Added images of the actual board and location of c4t14. Alphanumeric locator is lower half of T4.

@decrepitdragon okay so I found it :-) it’s a 1µF capacitor in a 0402 package (1mm x 0.5mm) equivalent to the 1005 metric package. most of these are of the 6.3V variety but you can always go up to something like 10V or so. It is not going to hurt the capacitance. Do not go lower than the common 6.3V.

If someone here has an Xbox one, an SMD ruler, and an LCR meter or Transistor Tester, they might be able to guide you to a replacement part. Otherwise, I think your best bet is to get a cheap non-working motherboard on eBay (or a similar site) and transfer the capacitor from there to your Xbox motherboard.
