Whenever I turn on my ibook the clock reads 1969, the battery says 5% and i can sometimes get it to 6 but then as soon as it gets turned off it goes back to 5, it says the battery has like 200 mah remaining but as soon as it gets unplugged it turns off, the battery wont hold a charge. It once held a charge but it wont anymore. And at random times it will shut off and the green indicator on the dc jack turns orange and i cant boot the ibook back up unless its green. Does anyone know whats going on? Any help is great! Cameron

The date and time are handled by a PRAM battery or capacitor or on the G4 iBook by the main battery. There’s no PRAM battery on your iBook G4 model. It’s the main battery who keeps the settings in memory. You need to replace your battery to one that will hold a charge.
