I have a clicking noise coming from my 27" iMac 2012 A1419 system I replaced Power Supply boardUnplugged Cooler Fan But noise is still same. When i start CPU stress test, CPU temperatures go around 90~105 degree, i can hear this noise. It sounds from Logic Board, i guess. Update (05/07/2022) @danj For testing, i unplugged the fan, but noise is same. I think this noise is not related with Power Supply or Fan or HDD. I recorded this noise. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1GVuTu8l… After this noise starting , CPU temperature is down to 80 degree. Is that a throttling noise? @areeve In my imac, there is no HDD. There is only SSD. Update (05/20/2022) Finally, i solve this problem. The problem was heatsink. i replaced the heatsink, and annoying noise and high temperature were disappeared. I installed the old heatsink in another imac, and there were crackling noise and high temperature. Thanks.

I would check the hard drive. A lot of times they start the “click of death” before they fail. iMac Intel 27" EMC 2546 Hard Drive Replacement

Clicking sounds as you describe is more likely the fan bearing and/or blade hitting the fan’s cowling if nothing else is wrong.iMac Intel 27" (Late 2012-Late 2015) Fan ands here’s the guide iMac Intel 27" EMC 2546 Fan Replacement
