I have successfully replaced a couple of lightning connectors in the past, but this time the phone won’t turn on and the screen remains black. When I charge the phone there is a continuous clicking/ticking noise, which I think is coming from the battery. I have disconnected the battery port since I wasn’t sure about the noise. Any idea what the noise is? Should I try to replace the battery or is it some other connection which I should try?

The clicking noise is probably coming from the Taptic Engine, which is right below the battery and get’s it signal and power through the Lightning Port Flex. Poor quality small parts is not uncommon so I would try another Flex.
