I recently acquired a 24" iMac that seems to have come from a smoker’s home. There is some gray discoloration on the glass, like fog. It is especially apparent when the machine is powered off or the display is sleeping. What’s the best way of going about cleaning both the inside of the glass and the LCD itself without damaging any coating that may be on either?
Order the suction cups to remove the glass. Heavy-Duty Suction Cups (Pair) I use Weiman e-tronic Wipes which I got at my grocery store. The smell may be coming from the fans. That means getting further into the machine. I will be doing the tear down on this model during the next three weeks and you can come back if cleaning the screen does not work,
