Chosen Solution
I recently purchased the iPhone 5 and will be looking to sell my iPhone 4. Before I do so I need to clean the inside of the screen as sweat has gotten under it and seems to have crystallized. My questions are now, (1) is it worth it to do, (2) is it very difficult? From looking at this site, it seems that I will need to remove nearly all of the components to get to the underside of the screen and if that’s the case, it may not be worth the time.
The LCD and digitizer are fused together in the manufacturing process, so the fact that you managed to get moisture between them is pretty impressive. I’m not sure that the degradation in value (if any) would be made up after taking into account the price of a new display assembly. If a prospective buyer complains about it, feel free to point them to a specific awesome website with free repair manuals…
