Chosen Solution
Recently when i was using the MacBook (Late 2011, 13’, 2.4MHz i5) without it been plugged in, it turned off all of a sudden with the “chich” sound and a puff of smoke came out. I thought my Mac died. But when i turned it on, it stated to work fine (checked with diagnostics, everything worked fine). So, Just to be sure i took it to the apple service centre, and they showed me that a chip on the logic board (below the fan) have been burnt. but the wonder is, the mac works fine. it would take me around $650+ for me to replace the logic board. can anyone please tell me if this is something i can live with and not replace the logic board ? I have added the an image which shows the chip as i remember by the red-arrow. it will be either one of them for sure. (i dont have a pic because the macbook is with apple at the moment, trying to figure out if this is claimable by apple care)
