Replacement screens for the S5 cost more than the phone itself, according to the adverts on ifixit and elsewhere. So, I get a ‘chinese’ one for 30.00, not really expecting it to work. However, they work very well with these differences:
- can’t change screen color tone.
- air gestures don’t work Are these experiences typical, or do I just have bad supplier ?
To be clear, they are all “Chinese” made, even out of factory. “30.00”, vs something more expensive… that is a different discussion. iPhones are “Chinese” made after all. To answer your question, yes a $30 is a “b” condition and will definitely have flaws, either a tone defect and/or other defects. “Gestures” is a sensor on the top of the assembly, and is a separate sensor. Some assemblies include this sensor, some don’t. For $30, highly doubtful.
Digitiser should not affect the screen tone, however, I´m not sure about the gestures.
