Chosen Solution

Hello, Some time ago I got from my friend Macbook pro 2013 retina 13 “(as it turned out in a tragic condition) half a year nothing happened with it worked perfectly so I was pleased- my first Macbook.   Everything ended when the problem caught me, namely the battery was empty so as always I plugged it into the charger. Some percent charged and then I started using it and noticed that the battery percentages are falling. After connecting the charger, it behaves correctly, the green light turns on and turns orange after a while. Clicking on the battery shows that it is not charging .. The battery has 597 charging cycles and shows 87% efficiency. I have already done SMC reset and it did not help .. I have 1% battery and do not want to charge .. I took off the bottom cover and saw the hard disk mount and I was shocked (I send a picture), I disconnected the battery, the macbook turns on normally but works very slowly … I also checked on the second charger from macbook air late 2014 and also without any changes. Something has changed, the macbook now shows that the battery is charging but will last for 10 hours Update (03/22/2020)

Update (03/22/2020) Latest Cocounutbattery status still 2% and not charging..

Dear colleagues, I found a solution to my macbook problem. I was able to repair my macbook. the motherboard turned out to be guilty. I changed the motherboard to another one and suddenly the battery is charging, the battery is charging fully and working properly. Unfortunately, I currently have 4gb of RAM instead of 8 as I had before. Greetings to all. Thank you for your help.

Did you note the small blister on the middle cell pair? You do need a new battery as this is a cell that has failed. Here’s the needed part: MacBook Pro 13” Retina (Late 2013-Mid 2014) Battery and heres the guide to put it in: MacBook Pro 13" Retina Display Late 2013 Battery Replacement I also see the SSD mount screw is missing you’ll need to get a new screw to properly secure it. I also see some dust build up along the back edge you should get a small soft paint brush and a can of can’ed air to dust out the system. That should do it!
