This I see a charging symbol, but the battery percentage is not increasing. perfectly describes my problem. In summary: Generally, phone plugged or on Wireless Charge in won’t increase in % charged.Tried all sorts of cables/charges (they all charge other phones perfectly well). One time (in the past 2 weeks), it fully charged.Sometimes, it can charge a bit but has a random upper limit % that it cannot go above. Most of the time it just remains at the current % while plugged in. But, for an iPhone X, there doesn’t seem to be a FL11 or C279 to work with. Maybe this isn’t my underlying problem. I have a replacement battery coming, but I’m concerned I damaged the board during a previous opening that caused this and a new battery won’t help. Any ideas? Thanks in advance, Justin [update] Here’s a screenshot of my charging page which shows it not doing anything and then, 1 hour after I posted this, it charged to 100%… looks like I’ll have to post to ifixit every time i need to charge my phone.

The newer phones have changed in the way they deliver the battery information. On the X there is one resistor, one diode and two mosfets that can get pry damage usually resulting in one of the pads being torn of as well. Have a look at the diagram; I have marked the components that will cause your issue if they get disturbed. It might pay to check with some sort of magnification. If they look intact I would replace the battery as you would need to rule that out before going any further.
