So I was trying to repair the charging port on my Lenovo Y545 and while heating up the old port to take it out, a wire it looks like came out of the motherboard, is there anyway to fix that or is the motherboard garbage now. I have the i7-9750 rtx2060 version of the laptop
Hi There, The Whole Motherboard will need replacing as you have damaged very key components and that Motherboard and the only way of fixing it its to replace it
@reforming43 your board got to hot and lifted the trace. I would not replace the board but just run a jumper from PD203 to the center pin. Get some wire from an old coil which is insulated and just solder it on. Just watch your heat. Not sure if you are using hot air or a soldering iron. For this type of work I’d use a soldering iron with a chisel tip and lots of flux. This really is not a terrible job.
I have same problem and i touch 2 pins on power conector i see spark.. now laptop dont start up and charger dont charge but i have 45% before repairing i think spark go from PD203 is motherboard dead or i can help
Are you willing to sell your motherboard? I need some parts xD
