Chosen Solution
Plug iphone 3g in to charge and charger hisses and light goes off on it. The same happened on another charger I tested the phone on. Have tested the chargers with other iphones and they work fine so it must be the phone not the chargers….
Try to change your iPhone battery first, it could the shortening your charger, if that does not work, change the dock connector on your phone and see what happens. Hope this helps, good luck.
