Hi, I just replaced my charge dock cable on my iPhone 5s. The old one was working fine but just the mic was very hard for people to hear me. I purchased new charge dock flex cable (complete) and have installed it. Speaker works, headphone works but charge dock is having issues. When I had the screen not completely closed for testing, while tilting the screen the charge dock works sometimes but as soon as I put the screen down into place it stops. I have taken it out and placed it back, readjusted it all and still the same issue. Has someone had similar issue with this and any recommnedations? I am thinking that it could possibly be a faulty charge dock flex cable.
Small parts are known for having quality issues. The logical thing to try is to order another one / have yours replaced under warranty. If you bought it at iFixit, they will stand behind their product and take care of you. If you weren’t already, follow this guide for the replacement.
