Hello , So after my macbook had the question mark screen , i bought a used ssd to replace the old one ( reference 656-0074A) and hopefully its the a good and right one . Before it shut down , the macbook had catalina 10.15.4 I have no time machine backup . i have three questions : Is it ok to just download the os from the internet into the formated ssd ? Will catalina cause any problem ? And is There a way to do this repair without Apple knowing ( the ssd tape ) so i can use for example their keyboard repair program afterwards? thanks :) nour

I would stick with Mojave! Catalina is still a bit buggy! Having no backup just means anything that was on your SSD is now gone - Sorry ;-{ You’ll need to re-install all of your apps. Your system has internet recovery! So you can install it directly from Apples Servers, but before you can install the OS You’ll need to first format the drive GUID - APFS. Once you launch Internet recovery go to the menu and select Disk Utility then select your new drive to prep it. Legally, Apple can’t turn you down for an extended warranty repair, just because you replaced the SSD. You will need to use care not to mess things up though! Make sure you use the correct tools and keep track which screw goes were! Follow this guide to take the bottom cover off MacBook Pro 13" Function Keys 2017 Lower Case Replacement
