Ok, Working on a Air 2 wifi version. I changed the tristar and passed with the tester. when I power the board alone or just with the battery it pulls 1.5A steady. When I attach the screen it does this repeating boost cycle where the current jumps to 1.5 amps then to 0. Each cycle is maybe 5 seconds. Running out of knowledge and no schematic on ZXW.
Let’s back up here. Please let us know what the original problem was and why you decided to replace the Tristar IC. Assuming that the troubleshooting logic was sound, my observation here is that I would try: to see if the device gets recognized by iTunes or 3uTools. Drawing current indicates that it is charging but that doesn’t mean the device has booted.a replacement screen to see if that solves the problem. The screen may have been damaged during disassembly and what was originally just a charge issue, then became something more.
