Hey! So I broke my digitizer screen on my Ipad and went about replacing it (simple enough). However, during the digitizer removal the ipad came on and I was unable to turn it off during the installation. Now everything has been replaced but it still will not show a picture. Here’s the Skinny: Replaced digitizer Replaced LCD connection cable Power cables and wifi antenna are not damaged. iPad is recognized in iTunes iPad is Locked with passcode (Cannot unlock I cant see the screen) Ipad will NOT respond to hard reset (it does not reset, cannot see the screen) Ipad will NOT go into DFU mode (Cannot see the screen) I am wondering what are my alternatives. Can I disconnect the battery to force a reset? What do you suggest I try?
You just need to reset the iPad and you don’t need to see anything on the screen, neither do you need to have a digitizer connected. Press and hold home button + power button for AT LEAST 12 seconds, sometimes more, until you see that Apple. If your home button is not install, either short the 2 home button pins together OR the left pin to the frame using any metal tool. Don’t break them off, you just need to touch them. Your power button should be functional though. Otherwise you can try to unscrew all the logic board screws, and slip a playing card or old credit card between the board and the bottom frame (battery side) to lift the board slightly (don’t bend or break it) and make it’s contact prongs loose continuity from the battery’s prongs.
