Solved Changed Battery And Charging Port Can T Speak During Phone Calls Htc One M8

As title states, I replaced the battery and charging port in my HTC One M8. Everything works with the phone regarding charging, headphones, speakers, internet, sending and receiving calls. When I do send or receive a call I can hear whoever is speaking, but they can’t hear me. I’m afraid that one of the cables or connectors were damaged during the tape removal process in getting the motherboard removed. I’d appreciate any help.

Hi @aegis31337 , According to Step.17 of the HTC One (M8) Teardown guide, the microphone shares the same cable as the headphone socket and the micro USB port. You may have to check if the cable is connected properly Also I can’t see it too well but I’m wondering if the microphone is mounted on the board next to the USB port and if it is still there or if it is faulty. Worth a look perhaps. Looking at this video of a microphone repair for the phone, the whole board is just being replaced. View from about 19:15 minutes into the video.

If you have head phones it will work, I would recommend air pods.
