My LG Cell was in steam, it wound not work for first few hours, then worked fine. Then volume kept shutting off and buttons were acting funny. Power and volume buttons located in back of phone. Now after a week, phone wont turn on at all and battery is taking charge and is fully charged. I even tried friends battery, since she has same phone as I, but mine still wont turn on. Any suggestions??? If only thing I can do is get a new phone, are my apps., voice msgs, test msgs, all my voice recordings on my sim card?

@alhssw your phone most likely died of corrosion brought on by the steam. The only thing you can try is to clean it like you would clean any device after water immersion. The first step is to not try to restart/sync the phone. This may further damage your phone. The next thing to do is to clean it. Disassemble your phone according to what model it is. Since you did not give us a model we cannot help you with detail on that. Remove the motherboard. You must remove all the EMI shields of the motherboard. If you do not remove those, you are not cleaning your board properly. Clean everything with +90% (no less than 90%) isopropyl alcohol. Follow this guide, and even so it was written for an Apple 3G iPhone, all the points are still pertinent to your phone. Pay particular attention to the SMD components, check for charred, missing or broken components. You can then dry the board in an oven or equivalent at 220deg F (not higher;-) for a few hours. Best way to clean it would of course be through an ultrasonic cleaner. Consider professional help with that When it is properly cleaned, replace the battery. Only then can you diagnose what is really going on with your phone. Check the power flex and its connectors as well since this could be your number one issue. There is no other way to recover anything from your phone and it is unlikely that anything got saved on the SIM card.
