I have a 2008 silverado the CD player worked before but now it wont

A few questions to narrow this down…

  1. Does the CD load?
  2. If it loads does is stay in “reading” mode? If no to #1, then the load belt needs to be changed. It is slipping and can not load the CD properly. If #2, then the lens is likely dirty or has failed. In either case, the unit must be removed from the vehicle in order to resolve the problem.
