Chosen Solution
Hello, i recently purchased a used iphone 5S 64GB. It has clearly been fixed on before, by someone not doing a professional job. The two lower screw holders (I am not sure what it is called) on the mainboard is missing. So i can’t thighten the 1,2 mm and the 1,3 mm. Only the two upper ones. Does anyone have any idea what i can do? I am not into microsoldering unfortunately. The good thing is that the phone is 64GB, and the motherboard works just fine. Is it risky to just keep the plate in place with the two upper screws, or is there other things i can do? Thanks! I could maybe try to use superglue to keep the srew holders in place, but i do not think that is a long term solution. I will provide a picture:
It’s not idea but I wouldn’t use glue as it might get into your chip below and kill your phone. Or it probably won’t stick for long. I’ve seen many phones where previous dodgy repairers have not put the shield plate back on at all and the phone still works. 2 screws are better than no plate at all. Ultimately try to get a professional to solder the 2 holders back on the housing.
Return the device. You’re lucky if this device can work at all. Lower screw post damage usually involves PCB damage underneath, usually such damage is beyond repair. Try the display without screws, if it does not work, ask for a refund.
