Hi all, when trying to boot from my usb os x sierra drive i get the forbidden icon. This is the latest release and is not working. I cant find why this is not compatible. I also try with El Capitan. This is a Macbook Pro Retina 13" 2017 A1706 EMC 3163

This machine requires a minimum of Pre-Installed MacOS: X 10.12.5 (16F2073) so El Capitan will not work. http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/ma… UPDATE Here’s how to do an internet re-install on your machine: https://support.apple.com/kb/ph25649?loc

@sbotalla , if you have a fast WiFi connection, you can simply use Internet Recovery to format and reinstall to either the latest OS X for your Mac, or the factory version. See https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204904 ‘‘‘Start up from macOS Recovery ’’’ macOS Recovery installs different versions of macOS depending on the key combination you press while starting up. Hold down one of these combinations immediately after pressing the power button to turn on your Mac. Release when you see the Apple logo or a spinning globe. • Command-R Reinstall the latest macOS that was installed on your Mac, without upgrading to a later version.1 • Option-Command-R Upgrade to the latest macOS that is compatible with your Mac.2 • Shift-Option-Command-R Requires macOS Sierra 10.12.4 or later Reinstall the macOS that came with your Mac, or the version closest to it that is still available.
