Suddenly my ringer doesn’t work. I switched ringtones, I reset my phone from itunes to its original state. My mute button is switched to the correct position and from the settings, sounds, ringer is turned up all the way. All sounds are turned to the on position. I hear no ringer sound when I’m being called and no keyboard clicks, alerts, etc. I DO hear music from my ipod though. Don’t know what to do and I am missing important phone calls. PLEASE HELP! I have purchased several parts but have not installed any yet in the hopes that I’ve missed something. Do you know if the ringer speaker with antenna cover needs soldering?
if the ipod works in headphone mode then it makes sense..but if the speaker works for music then it’s a bit of a puzzle. Do your headphones work? have you tried cleaning the headphone jack of dirt and dust just to make sure they aren’t tricking the phone to “headphone mode”. I think this is probably the headphone/volume flex but it all depends on whether your speaker works at all. The speaker is housed inside the dock connector and it’s connection is soldered to the USB/microphone flex (connector no.4) It’s a PITA to try and remove the speaker and solder/desolder for the sake of a $1..just buy the dock with all parts attached. so no.1…do your earphones work?does music play on loud speaker? 2. clean out the headphone jack with a cotton tip, try rapidly putting jack in and out (20 times) 3.replace the headphone jack if you have no sound from loudspeaker with music then I’d replace the dock
