I had a mishap with a pop spill on this device and upon pulling it apart the inside is quite rough, the battery is shot and its not worth it to me to fix. However I was curious if I could pull anything off of the SSD in it using my M.2 slot in my PC that runs Windows 10. Thanks for any response’s!
Sorry you can’t fit this SSD into the M.2 slot within your Windows PC system. But! You still can gain access to the files on the SSD using a special external case: OWC Envoy Pro Portable, Bus-Powered USB 3.0 Enclosure - For Apple Flash SSDs (June 2013-Current Mac Models). That solves the hardware side of things. For the software side of things you’ll need a special Windows drive so you can mount up the Mac volume. Here’s a bit more on how to do it: How to Read a Mac-Formatted Drive on a Windows PC Frankly, I think it would make sense here to find another Mac system to access your files and only copy off what you need to onto a USB thumb drive (FAT32 or exFAT formatted). As you don’t want to risk damaging your SSD if you make a mistake here.
