Hi, I was wondering if you can put the iphone 5s home button on the iphone 5 or ipad mini?
If you are trying to gain the fingerprint security services from the new iPhone 5s the answer is no you need more than just replacing the button for either the iPhone or iPad mini.
Even if you can, it doesn’t add anything. It just looks better.
The back of two home button is different. See below. So I don’t think it will work if you put the wrong home button.
I find a custom iPhone 5 home button at witrigs.com. It makes the iphone 5 looks like the iphone 5s.
Anyway, iPhone 5S button will ONLY work with their original mother board. There is some “encryptage” for home button that you can only use with the original iPhone 5S. You can’t fit your iPhone 5S button to a 5 for two reason. In the iPhone 5, there is no fingerprint connector. And iPhone 5S button can’t be changed for any other button, because fingerprint feature will not work only because the iPhone 5S home button is configured to work with only their own motherboard.
Other than the fact the Buttons are completely different, last time i cracked an 5s open, the button was actually assembled to the screen, instead of the 5 which is on the actuall frame housing. Not going to work out for you at all.
No you can I’ll explain because people never held and pictures don’t do any justice I took my friends cracked(yes cracked already) 5s and compared it with my 5 The button on the 5s is not curved in like all rest of the iPhones. The 5 is indented in flat with a more centered circular outline.

hello i have a damaged iphone 5S, can i convert my other iPhone 5 into the iPhone 5S. there is a screen damage in iPhone 5S, logic board damaged in iPhone 5S.
There is so much confusion on this topic so i will clarify it for everybody. The iPhone 5S home button can be installed on an iPhone 5 or 5C just for looks because they are the same shape and use the same technology for the button push. On the other hand, while the 5S home button is installed there is no connector to plug the Fingerprint scanner into. So therefore, if you wanted to install one on an iPhone 5 or 5C, you could but it would just act the same as the original one but it would look better. I have an iPhone 5s home button in my 5c and it works perfectly, (other than the touch ID). If there are any questions, just reply to this post.
