I have an iPhone 8 and I have a crack that started out small and then spread and I’ve called many places and they haven’t had it under 2-300 dollars and I wondered if you could fix under 200 dollars
Hello @megynbb, This is a DIY website and all the contributors are volunteers. iFixit themselves do not repair for the general public. Now many of the contributors are themselves repair business owners and professional repair technicians. I am myself doing it for a living and can tell you why it will be hard at this time to find a cheaper price: The housing of the iPhone 8 has to be replaced in many cases, and the housing is very expensive. About USD $150 or more for a good quality one. Add to that the cost of labor to gut your iPhone and transfer everything to the new housing, and you will understand why the repair costs $200 and more. Some people are starting to develop techniques to replace the glass only, but it is still (at this date) extremely labor intensive and commands a very high price.
