Is there a way to CLEAN the inlet valve to a Whirlpool washer? I am on a well and had to have the well pump replaced because it was sucking sand into the house and washer. I cleaned the strainers which were filled with muck. I did this repeatedly before the pump was replaced. Now that it is fixed the cold water drips into the tub when not in use. So I believe that there may be debris in the inlet valve. the strainers have been replaced.
Hi @majalu72 , You don’t state the model number of your washer but in a lot of cases the water inlet solenoid valve cannot be cleaned or repaired and has to be replaced if clogged or faulty. If you search online for Whirlpool (insert model number) parts, you’ll get results for suppliers of the parts for the machine. You could use the diagram in this link to see if you can dis-assemble the solenoid valve and clean and repair it. Maybe worth a shot. You may want to think about installing some sort of filter system - example only to minimize or prevent future problems. just a thought.
