Will a blade ssd from a 2017 iMac work inside a 2014 Mac mini with the ssd flex cable? I wanted to add a fusion drive to my Mac mini to make it run faster, and since I have the iMac ssd laying around I was wondering if I could use it? The Mac mini ssd flex cable appears to the same pinout (12 16) as the iMac ssd I have.
OK, so its the drive from a Fusion Drive set you salvaged. So you could use it. creating a new Fusion Drive set with your HDD. Frankly, If you are trying to get real performance I would jump to a 512GB/1TB 2 lane PCIe/NVMe SSD as being a better direction.
