My warranty coverage expires in February of this year (2017) and I worry that the keyboard may fail (considering it’s essentially the only moving part on this machine..) I’m wondering if the keyboard can be replaced out of warranty? Thanks in advance for any replies!
Yes it is. Once the logic board has been removed, you can peel back the keyboard backit. After that, it’s only a matter of remove a few dozen screws/rivets holding the keyboard to the top case. You can buy replacement keyboard from eBay for less than $25. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M0L38wDZ…
