I received a macbook pro which has obvious water or moisture damage.. I’ve removed the mobo and cleaned everything with the special 99.99 alcohol tissue.. After borrowing a macbook air charger from a friend and trying it out.. It starts up normal and you can hear the chime + apple logo etc once u see the mouse u can move it And then out of the blue it just dies.. I’ve tried all types of resets which do there job but still about 1 minute or so it just falls dead. Also the magsafe charger led turns red but the battery is definitely not charging.. Is this because of the low wattage charger? Or issue with the battery causing the mcb to turn off? Please advice!

Try running it with the battery disconnected, water is not a batteries friend if you post ok and it runs without shutting down its a good indicator that the batteries fried .You will not be able to run fully without a battery as macs tend to power back to one processor when run without a battery. but it should tell you if theres another issue at play or if its the battery https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tv5CNQme… this will help to get to the battery to disconnect it you dont need to watch past 1:56

Anybody here who has expierence with troubleshooting the mobo ? Measuring certain voltages etc? I think i have a short to ground somewhere on the 3GHOT line.. but need some advice. When i plugin the charger it boots up automaticly.. now after 17seconds it dies again then it reboots and tries one more time..
