I’ve put two new hp 61 xl black cartridges in and the printer says there is a problem and the cartridge needs to be replaced. The first time I figured the cartridge was faulty and went and got another new one but two in a row seems unlikely and I’m wondering if something is wrong with the printer itself. What’s going on and can I fix it myself?
Try cleaning the metal prongs inside the printer cartridge with Rubbing Alcohol on a Q-tip. Ink may be covering one of the connections, making the printer unable to tell if it’s a compatible ink cartridge and if it works.
