Chosen Solution
I need to reset my Mac’s smc and none of the hardware solutions are working so I am trying to do it manually. I have followed the directions here: https://discussions.apple.com/message/22… But I am getting an error of : “Error: invalid option 2 ‘1’” when trying to run the SmcFlasher.efi tool in the last step I have seen tons of people with this problem online, and spent over an hour looking for a solution, but can’t seem to find one. Does anyone know what’s going on?
Sorry guy ;-{ You’ll need to visit an Apple Store to get them to reset your firmware. You’ll likely need proof of ownership as well. Apple altered the firmware a while ago to prevent resetting from within the system. This was part of the move forward with a bunch of security lockdowns within the Mac systems.
