My iphone 5 is faulty, both home button and power button wouldn’t work. After thorough examination, I found out that two logic board components are missing. Probable cause might be me trying to take the battery out with some tool, maybe damaging the logic board . Components are located below the antennas-ribbon, close to sim tray spring. First picture is PCB schematics with arrows indicating damaged parts:

Questions:
- Can anyone identify components please?
- Any idea how (or if) such a problem can be fixed? Thanks Alon
Alon, very similar to my answer on here. see attached image for the reference designators. The parts missing/broke are: Reference Designator U3 is 74AUP2G34GN SOT1115 package is a Low-power dual buffer datasheet available here. It is part of your MENU & POWER / HOLD KEY circuit Reference Designator DZ101_RF is TPD4E101DPW SON4 and it is a ESD protection diode. That datasheet is available right here. It is part of the SIM CARD CONNECTOR circuitry It will be no small chore to fix those. U3 is hard to come by. Once you get the parts, it will be a chore to fix it unless you are well versed in microsoldering and have the right tools. If you do not, you may want to consider finding a professional to do it for you. Hope this helps, good luck
Alon–this is very common damage, so you are not the only one :) I do this repair often, and I happen to have a donor board that still has these three on it–a guy last week had pry damage in the exact same spot that took out components behind the SIM tray but not these ones, serendipity! If you can’t find a local source, feel free to give me a shout via my profile. Jessa
These are ESD protections for the buttons, I will find the designators when I have time
Tom Thank you very much. I’ll have a professional take care of it, but I will have to buy components myself. Any idea where can I buy it at small qtys? Thanks again Alon
Another question….please Could anyone check the picture again and see if there any additional component is missing there? I identify some ’empty’ pads right next to DZ101. Thanks again Alon
