I cant seem to find the part number anywhere for the iphone 8 FPC Charging dock connector, I’ve tried all the numbers from the iPhone schematics but none of them work. Also tried searching by FPC and pins but nothing. Would be much appreciated. Also can someone also tell me if this FPC connection port is ok? There are 3 pins there that look a little how you going on the motherboard but diode readings are good. Pic attached.
You wont find those FPC connectors on any official distributor website, or if you do, the MOQ will be so high you’ll faint. You will have to buy these from resellers like iFixit, MobileSentrix, or eBay and Aliexpress. It must be said that soldering FPC connectors is not trivial, even for experienced micro-soldering techs. Especially the long ones like this one. Applying heat while trying not to melt a plastic part is anything but easy. I would order several (like 5) just in case. You’ll also need to test each pin individually to insure it is properly soldered and connecting. Be wary of applying too much heat as you may cause damage elsewhere on the board. Ideally, practice on a dead board first if you haven’t done this kind of work before.
