See image below. The display on a 13" Retina Macbook Pro from 2014 is showing lines. I know the issue is with the display itself. My question is, can this unit be repaired? Could the LVDS cable be reseated internally, for example? Is it even possible to open a Retina display, or does everyone just replace the entire display assembly?
Oh, you can open it, it’s just getting it to work afterward. I’d love to see a really good repair guide along with reasonably priced parts. But as of this time, I am still having to replace the whole unit. I’d love to hear from someone who has done it successfully.
It is NOT possible to separate a retina screen, any attempt simply breaks it. Also this is clearly a fractured LCD, there is no point messing with the cable, just replace the lid assembly.
