Slot to sim cards is lights up (see the underside of the display) ?. It looks like the sim card has no contact with the phone (searching and searching ). Have any have this problem after such repairs?
If you took battery out, it would have reset the time to something like the year 1970, make sure automatic date and time is on, and connect to wifi, once it has changed time etc. put it in airplane mode for a few seconds then turn off, should come back on. :-)
