I own a LG TV which works also as a computer monitor (it’s a led LCD TV, model M2252T). I’ve owned it for four years and it has worked flawlessly before. Today when I was on my computer, I suddenly started to smell burning plastic and then I noticed that the screen was turning black from the upper left corner. I quickly turned the TV off and unplugged it. When I later tried to turn on the TV for a while, the screen was working but the black part in the corner had changed colour into a bright light. Can my TV be fixed and how expensive would it be to have it repaired? It’s an old TV so I understand that it might be easier to just buy a new TV but I would still like to know if there’s a chance to get it fixed.

@artemisxx could be a damaged panel. You’d have to remove the back of the TV and take a good look around, specifically in the area where you now have a changed screen. Post some images of what your screen displays and what the boards look like when you have the back removed. Where there is smoke and smell there must be a part that will have failed.
